WHAT INSPIRED ME TO START MY OWN BUSINESS?

When I was in University, I had graduated with a Pre-Clinical Degree. I thought I wanted to be a PA/MD so I began working in the hospital as an EMT, shadowing many MD’s. I began to realise that there was a ceiling on the amount of people I could impact on a daily basis.


The whole reason I began my journey through school to become a PA/MD was to help others, to relate to those who have had similar injuries, mental and physical. 


I then realised by starting my own business, I could share that knowledge and passion with so many more through the power of the internet. I’m motivated to share my passion and help others who may not yet see the greatness they have inside themselves. 


That is the greatest feeling. 


HOW I GOT IN TO FITNESS

I got started in the fitness industry at a young age. When I was 13, my Dad took me to my first gym and I started to learn the benefits of exercise. I was always an active kid, I played Basketball, Baseball, Soccer, Football you name it. I loved playing any sport.


At a young age I was diagnosed with ADHD, Tourretts and Dyslexia which made studying and concentrating extra hard. I was prescribed Adderall to help with my concentration and focus.


One day I started sweating, my heart was beating rapidly and I felt faint. For the first time in my life I experienced a pretty severe anxiety attack, and had to undergo many tests for my heart and my brain. The culprit… Adderall.


So, at 14 years old I went home and told my Mom “I’m done with the medication. I am going to find a different alternative and find my own way to focus”.

The first few weeks were tough… I struggled with grades and school work and I needed an outlet to put my energy into.


One day I went up to the gym where everyone was working out and jumped into a football workout. I wasn’t a part of the team, so I couldn’t workout with them, but the coach agreed he would train me on the side.


From that point on, I didn’t look back, my coach taught me everything I know about training. With his help, I gained 25 pounds of muscle, my performance in school increased, my grades got drastically better, and I was able to begin focusing all on my own.


From that point on, I found my anchor - exercise. I’ve seen first hand the benefits it holds, and now I want to share that same knowledge with the world. 

MY TRANSFORMATION

My transformation was more about my mentality. I realized I lacked energy, confidence, focus and I wanted to build a driven mindset. That’s the thing with exercise…yes the physical benefits are incredible but the gains you can make mentally is a whole other level.


Weight lifting offers a chance to pursue a clear and measurable goal with outcomes that are traced directly back to oneself. In the weight room, it’s just you and the bar… You either make the lift or you don’t. If you make it, great, if not, you train some more and try again. Some days are good days and others are not so good. It becomes clear that what you get out of yourself is the same effort you put in. 


The thing that keeps me going is the guy in the mirror I have to beat every single day. I want to better myself in all aspects of my life. 

MY HEALTH AND FITNESS ETHOS

Over the years I’ve learned how to attract more balance into my life. When I first started this journey, I always thought I had to be the guy that was always eating clean, workout every day and could never enjoy myself.


Now I’ve learned what balance truly means and what it's like to have a healthy relationship with my mind, body and environment. My diet, most of the time, is very clean, although I do eat foods I love and enjoy, too.

Life is about balance and enjoying the journey, it’s a marathon, not a sprint!


As far as workouts, I am very consistent with my workouts, although I’ve become someone that is very intuitive with their body. Get in line for the marathon and enjoy the journey getting to your goals!
